This historical truss bridge was built in 1884 by the King Iron Bridge Manufacturing Company and named after an abandoned community that previously existed here. The bridge is also known as Goatman's Bridge and has a tragic past if the legend is true and possibly a haunted present.
Recent reports describe this place as unsafe and covered in graffiti, even on the trees. You are advised to avoid this location or prepare accordingly.
You'll want to park at the Old Alton Bridge Trail parking lot and make your way down the trail to the bridge.
